Taieri Gorge Railway
Taieri Gorge Railway is an award-winning half-day heritage excursion from Dunedin to the Taieri River Gorge. The historic Central Otago line, built between 1879 and 1891, was the chosen option out of seven proposed to open up the interior. The line climbs through the gorge along maginificent stone and wrought iron viaducts and bridges and narrow tunnels.
